Latest reviews of MyWords - Learn Arabic Vocabulary app for iPhone and iPad

Finally! Arabic on the iPhone
I have used this app for one day so far, and I agree with those who feel the price is too steep for the content provided. I would really like the option to choose another set of ten words on a given day. For anyone who has basic knowledge of Arabic, the words for you are pretty basic. Also, better character support would be appreciated. How is the begining reader supposed to recognize the written word if all they have ever seen is the incorrect form. Still, I am happy to see Arabic instruction ok the iPhone.
Dont waste your money, wrong translation,
We sponsored a family from Iraq so I wanted to pick up some Arabic.. When I went over to their house they were impressed with the iQuran but when I spoke some of what this program teaches they told me it was wrong (wrong words and translation). Its sad that a company would put this out there. People (like myself) that dont know any Arabic trust that this teaches you correctly. You might as well throw a bunch of words together and pretend like you know what youre saying,it doesnt cost $10. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PROGRAM! Pros: nice interface,recording/playback feature good Cons: wrong wording, wrong translation, only gives you 10 words a day (even if you want more you cant DL them until the next day)
good concept, but flawed
The concept is great, but the app has major flaws. For one, the arabic characters appear in their stand alone form, not in their correctly printed connected forms. This makes reading and memorizing the spelling more difficult. If you have the iPhone, the next problem wont be as much an issue, but I have an iPod Touch - the program needs a wifi connection to download the words of the day(no problem), however, once downloaded...if you close the app, the words are cleared(annoyance). So you cant download the words and then keep them and review them throughout the day. There is also no way to update to a new set of words within a 24 hour period..if you learn the words already present and want to learn a new set that day, you are out of luck, youll have to wait till the next day. Ive also had issues moving words from my daily word list to my saved word bank. The price is very steep for an app with so many basic flaws.
I should have hit my head
This is the worst language app I own. It has the wrong saying of the words. Even the English is wrong. I wish I never wasted my money on this. Crappy app.
A little jumbled
App is a great idea, but programming is broke. The Arabic words are mostly backwards on the comparison screen, and then correctly ordered on the detail screen. Trouble is the best feature which allows for a game to match correct words uses the messed up programming so it is useless. Should be an easy fix.
